I met Kit in December of 1999 at the University Club. I was a fledging new member prospect coming for my Admissions Committee cocktail party, which is a little bit like speed dating! The very first person that shook my hand was Kit- he was a Past President of the Club and struck me as a most charming and sincere person. Over the years he never has wavered in his class and friendship and I have to say that one day if I ever grow up I aspire to be more like him. Congratulations Kit on your milestone birthday, I’m sure you will have many more and the best is yet to come!

Since a cruise to Greece and Turkey in 2011 and visits in Florida since, we’ve enjoyed your good nature and wonderful sense of humor. Kit, you are never at a loss, whether posing on a pedestal in an Athens museum (isn’t that you…I don’t have my glasses on), or for drinks on our last night out in Istanbul.
Great to see your extended family and the tributes to a well loved man on this wonderful website. Who would have known you used to have so much hair!

Hey, Kit! Happy Birthday!

Kit was always poised, calm and in command. Youngsters acting up? Or just needing some love? Kit was on it. Even in this shot, a caring and protective Kit chose to simply ignore until later a flying saucer / UFO landing off in the distance and instead stay focused on attending to young ones. Well done, we say. Well done!

This shot was taken a fraction of a second before a young, careless and distracted Scott nearly ran straight off the road. Kit, always on point, yelled his famous, “Damn it, use your head!” line and was able to snap the inexperienced and naive Scott into maintaining some control before coming to a safe stop. A lucky day. Supervised by an amazing tutor!

Nothing like the power, simplicity and elegance of yesterday!

Kit – I loved this day, sitting on your lap, you smiling, me smiling. What I loved even more was getting that ketchup bottle in the background ready to absolutely explode the second I hopped of your lap! I mean, a girl needs to do what a girl needs to do!!

Such a glorious shot. So much history! And also … did you see Kit’s hair? Of note, check out the portion immediately above his left ear. It’s a virtual wave of hair, sweeping back, daring not to be touched for fear of messing up the perfect crest. Wow. This guy amazed then. And amazes now!

A lot of babies can act up, get moody, cry, fuss, poop, fuss some more and poop again. We’ve all been there. The solution to this age-old problem? Easy. Kit. Who knew you could pop a baby in Kit’s loving arms and right to gentle sleep and dreams that baby would go. This Kit has more talents than anyone in the books!

That cross-hair sweater or whatever it is always stuck with me over the years. Super weird. Who the hell WEARS a bullseye? A brave man, I guess. Well, happy birthday, G. I wish I were as tough as you man!!

These two are just TOO good to be true. We’d be mad if we weren’t so in love them!!

I met Kit when I was 53yr. He looked to be about 59yr.  When I turned 60 my friend Kit looked to be 59yr. Then I turned 65 and Kit looked like he was 59yr.  Now I am 71yr and–damn it all!–Kit looks like he is 59years old!  So I am going to make him the guardian of my great great grandchildren because I will be pushing up daisys and he will be 59 years old.

I think that you are over five hundred years old in dog years but who’s counting? Keep up the good life-you can slow down when you are 100.

On August 20th (my birthday) he gets the gentile reminder.from me which ensures receipt of a a timely email from me for his birthdays on August 22nd.
Clearly he is in a good place.

Kit has been involved with Metro Denver Partners since 1989. In the words of his Partners counselor, John Kraft, “Kit and Luis was the first match I made on my own. It was a great start to the 27 years of my making matches for Partners in that the best Partnerships are the ones that just keep going and going. Luis was genuine in his desire to make a better life for his future self, and Kit was just the friend, role model and advocate that Luis needed to make that happen. Thank you Kit for showing me what the best in a potential mentor looks like then and now. “ Kit encouraged Luis to graduate, supported him during his time in the military and remains his steadfast friend to this day. Kit also joined the Board oF Directors of Metro Denver Partners and quickly became one of our strongest leaders. He served as President for three consecutive years, developed our Annual Youth Campaign to solicit individual donors and spearheaded the beginning of our efforts with Douglas County Partners. After Kit’s resignation from the Board, he was unanimously chosen as  Director Emeritus. To this day, Kit comes to the office every fall to personally sign his letters requesting donations for Partners. He and Ardy annually attend and support our Gala and served as Honorary Chairpersons of the event in 2013. All of us here at Partners extend a
huge congratulations to Kit on the celebration of his 80th birthday. Words cannot express our immense gratitude to you, Kit, and you, Ardy, for your wonderful support of our young people!

Happy Birthday Kit, When we first met, it was for you to become my son’s Partner for kinda like Big Brothers. He got into some trouble, and because the court assigned you to be that big brother, you turned his life around. I THANK YOU for being that man to step up to the post and rescue my son. You have become a family member to us and because you saved my son Louis Zinanti’s life in more ways then I care to say. You made a huge difference in his life. I worked two jobs trying to keep a roof over out heads and clothes on his back an food in his growing stomach. So my love and THANKS, go out to you on your special day. I have to say that you are truly amazing. You played such a pivotal role in my life and can never thank you enough. It was your example that set me out on my path. And today I am a successful, proud person and I thank you. Thank you for being you and showing a confused teenage boy the error of his ways and opening his eyes to what this life can offer if he is willing to go for it and work for it! Kit, I’ll begin with thanking you for giving me, a then 21 year old young woman a chance at being your legal secretary which lasted for 11 years. Now, 39 years later, we are still friends and I appreciate your friendship and wisdom. Enjoy! Peace, love and good health.
